Associate Attorney – General Liability Defense

New York, NY (Manhattan – Lower Manhattan)

Onsite, minimum 4 days/week

$90,000–$110,000 (based on experience)

A premier litigation boutique with a long-standing reputation for excellence is seeking Associate Attorneys to join its General Liability Defense practice in New York City. With a core focus on defense litigation across multi-states, this firm is known for its collegial, team-oriented culture and its strong track record of client success.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in general liability matters, including motion practice, court appearances, depositions, and trials
• Manage a caseload from inception through resolution with minimal supervision
• Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and reports
• Participate in client meetings and strategy discussions
• Ensure compliance with billing requirements and maintain accurate time records
• Billable Hours Requirement: 2,100 hours/year

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in New York State
• 2–3+ years of experience in defense litigation, with specific experience in New York state courts
• Demonstrated ability to manage files independently and meet deadlines
• Prior billing experience is required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, reliable, and respectful of office expectations
• Must be a team player and able to thrive in a diverse, collaborative environment
