Billing/Insurance Account Specialist with Accounting Experience
Essential Job Functions:
• Insurance payor medical billing
• EOB/ERA knowledge
• Claims processing, corrections, and resubmissions
• Researching and resolving claim denials
• Calling insurance payors for claim status
• Accounts receivable management
• Responding to patient inquiries and resolving account issues
• Assisting patients with repayment terms and overdue balances
• Explaining insurance benefits to patients
• Processing denials and handling high-volume inbound calls professionally
• Taking patient insurance info and processing payments accurately
• Maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Organizing and prioritizing tasks to manage client accounts effectively
• Providing support to other staff as needed
• Maintaining a polite and professional phone manner
• Conducting follow-up calls according to policy and procedure
• AP and GL experience is a plus
