Summary
The Regional Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, including the entire accounting and accuracy of the month-end closing process with a focus on maintaining effective communication with both internal & external clients. This position will ensure compliance with financial regulations and provide strategic insights to support business growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversees the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the region. Ensures accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Financial Statement Preparation & Presentation: Responsible for the timely preparation of income statements (to include providing variance analysis on key changes to executive leadership), balance sheets (to include oversight and ensuring that general ledger account reconciliations are being performed monthly and kept clean, i.e. audit proof), and statement of cash flows (to include clear communication of what is impacting our cash fluctuations).
- Internal Controls: Develops and implements internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensures compliance with regulations.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepares and presents financial reports to senior management, providing insights into operational performance and financial trends.
- Team Leadership: Manages and mentors a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaboration: Works closely with regional leadership and other departments to align financial goals with business strategies.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinates with external auditors during financial audits and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
- High level of accountability for accounting and financial areas.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
