Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is a vital member of our team. This position will oversee general accounting operations and perform complex accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger to ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks, including transactional processing, financial analysis, annual budget support and monitoring, and monthly financial statements. Critical skills for this position include solid experience with GAAP accounting principles, clear communications, being a team player, maintaining confidentiality, detail-oriented, and acting with the highest degree of integrity.

The candidate should have the drive and desire to learn and provide solutions in supporting the successful growth of the Company. Critical to this role is a demonstrated ability to be self-directed in prioritizing important tasks while working with limited oversight. The successful candidate has a desire to solve problems and develop new skills to grow in their career.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and daily treasury activities
  • Perform month-end account reconciliations for closing of the books
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements and document changes.
  • Inventory accounting and monthly reconciliations.
  • Assist to prepare operational and financial reports to management.
  • Assist with annual audits and tax reporting requirements, as needed
  • Assists with system process improvements and upgrades
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and process improvements to finance and accounting function, as needed
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and accruals

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong background and experience with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Solid recent proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics and other business intelligence a plus
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger
  • Manufacturing industry experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills;
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and energized environment.
  • Solid judgment skills and ability to work independently.
  • Organized and excellent follow-through a must; detail-oriented and deadline driven.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, takes initiative and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Team player with a positive attitude; flexible to adapt to changing needs/priorities.
