Sr. Cost Accountant – 100K-120K Plus Bonus

Bell & Associates has been engaged to help find our client their next Sr. Cost Accountant. The Sr. Cost Accountant reports to and partners with the Controller to drive the company’s financial and accounting functions. The Sr. Cost Accountant is responsible for the costing of the products produced in their manufacturing subsidiary, located in Midvale, UT.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Manage and maintain standard costing system and Bill of Materials
• Monitor Manufacturing Work Orders to ensure proper closeout weekly.
• Set up new raw material, packaging, and finished goods.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Conduct monthly update of standard costs to ensure accurate inventory costing.
• Distribute standard cost update reports and work with sales to assist in updating customer price lists.
• Manage Inventory valuation and reconciliation, as well as assist with other Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations.
• Manage annual physical inventory and/or cycle count process.
• Documenting SOPs

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. Accounting required
• Four (4+) years’ experience in Product Costing, Accruals, & Depreciation schedules
• Experience in MS Dynamics Business Central; preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong writing/communicative skills, solid accounting foundation, interpersonal relations, analytical skills, and technical skills.
• Ability to perform in a “start-up” environment, comfortability wearing multiple hats, enjoys taking on new projects, operates well with little to no supervision
• Team Player – willing to jump into other departments and assist when needed
• Must clear background and drug screen
