Union/Payroll Tax Specialist

Bonner Springs, KS

$23-25/hr. plus bonus & ESOP

Bell & Associates has been engaged to find our client their next Union/Payroll Tax Specialist. This position is responsible for all aspects of union and payroll tax compliance and reporting. This includes processing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual union and payroll tax filings.

To be successful in this position one should be able to ensure that both union reports and payroll tax reports are processed accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Process tax checks, electronic deposits and filings for both unions and various tax agencies.
• Process union updates.
• Communicate with various unions and tax agencies to obtain information or resolve issues.
• Respond to employee’s union and payroll tax questions.
• Assist with maintaining taxes in the payroll system.
• Handle union/payroll tax audits – this includes maintaining accurate account balances and detailed records.
• Preparing union and payroll tax related reports.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in payroll processing and/or accounting (2+ years, preferred)
• Solid computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with a team and independently.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations.
• Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Experience with both union and non-union payroll.
• High degree of confidentiality.
• Strong work ethic with ability to adapt to monthly, quarterly and year end work demands.
