We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to join our client’s leadership team at a fast-growing private equity-owned manufacturing company. This position will play a critical role in driving financial performance, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting the company’s strategic objectives in a dynamic and competitive market.
The VP of Finance will oversee all financial activities, including planning, reporting, and analysis, and will act as a key business partner to the CEO and private equity stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing, strong analytical skills, and experience navigating the complexities of private equity ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term growth goals.
- Provide financial insights to the CEO, board of directors, and private equity partners to inform decision-making.
- Drive key initiatives for revenue growth, cost efficiency, and capital allocation.
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
- Analyze financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Present financial results and KPIs to stakeholders in clear and actionable formats.
Operational Oversight
- Partner with operations teams to monitor production costs, optimize inventory management, and enhance profitability.
- Implement systems and processes to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
Private Equity Partnership
- Collaborate with private equity investors to align on financial priorities, provide reporting, and support value creation strategies.
- Manage debt covenants, capital structures, and liquidity planning.
- Play a key role in due diligence and financial analysis for acquisitions, divestitures, or other transactions.
Team Development
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Attract, develop, and retain top financial talent.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in manufacturing and private equity environments.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, financial modeling, and operational KPIs in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven track record of partnering with leadership to achieve financial and strategic objectives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial software tools.
