Controller

$160-180k plus bonus

Bell & Associates has been engaged to find our client their next Controller. The Controller will be a critical member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and implementing strong internal controls. This role will partner closely with the company Leadership team to drive financial performance and support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Manage external audits and tax filings.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls.

Working Capital Management

• Oversee the management of working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory.
• Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and improve working capital efficiency.
• Manage the treasury function.

Financial Analysis, Reporting and Budgeting

• Prepare and present financial reports and other ad hoc financial analysis to executive team and the PE team.
• Assist and participate in the annual budget and rolling forecasts.
• Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Private Equity Partnership

• Work closely with PE firm to provide the necessary financial information, and reports.
• Assist with Due diligence activities.
• Understand and assist in the financial goals of the company as they pertain to a PE backed organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a private equity-backed environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Experience with implementing and managing ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software programs.
• Experience with due diligence is a plus.
