Tax Manager

$110-130k plus bonus

Kansas City, MO – Plaza office

Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client find their next Tax Manager. Our client is a privately held company with a very successful history. Established prior to 1920, the family enterprise owns and operates retail home improvement stores, real estate, banking, and other businesses in the Midwest.

Responsibilities:
o Review complex individual, trust, partnership and corporate income tax returns tax returns
o Make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities
o Make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax saving opportunities
o Research and consult on various tax matters
o Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
o Manage work flow and supervise staff
o Prepare tax projections and miscellaneous tax and financial projects
o Address taxing authority inquiries and assist in tax audits

Requirements:
o 5-10+ years of income tax experience including broad based exposure to federal and state income tax matters
o CPA certification
o Excellent managerial and leadership skills
o Good verbal and written communication skills
o Strong computer skills including proficiency with tax compliance and research software
o Public accounting experience a plus
o Estate/gift tax experience a plus
