Controller

$160-190k plus bonus

Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client recruit their next Controller.  As the Controller, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be responsible for the preparation and management of the following financial tasks:

Financial Month End Closing
• Account analysis, reconciliation, review, and resolution
• Plant inventory accounting, control & summarization
• Financial Statement preparation, distribution and reporting

Accounting Functions
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies & procedures
• Bank reconciliations / ATM balancing oversight
• Treasury Management duties including but not limited to review and authorization of
positive pay issues, related exceptions, and processing ACH/Wire payments
• Secure payment / anti-fraud team member
• Review and approve sales, use, property, and miscellaneous business tax filings
• Oversee Assistant Controller, finance administration and brokerage administration staff
members
• Accounting System updates, report writing

Year-end (12/31) Financial Statement Audit & Income Tax Preparation
• Financial Statement preparation
• Coordinate and lead annual financial statement audit, including workpaper preparation
and review
• Manage end-to-end tax provision and related tax workpapers
• Serve as primary point of contact for external tax accountants
• Annual physical inventory observation support

Forecasting and Analysis
• Prepare annual budgets for select business segments
• Prepare forecasts for select business segments throughout the month and keep senior
management informed of variances between budget and forecast
• Present monthly results to stakeholders of select business segments

Prepare analyses as needed for stakeholders of select business segments and work closely
with them to ensure they have financial information needed to effectively run the
business segment

Requirements
• Accounting degree , CPA required
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred
• Working knowledge of financial controls & General Ledger Account Reconcilement
standards
• Working knowledge of internal control risk assessment and fraud prevention
• Proficient knowledge of accounting systems and reporting
• Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills
• Excellent computer skills and adaptability
• Ability to work with external advisors and control cost related to such advisors
• High energy, detail oriented, analytically strong and driven to seek improvements to
current processes
