Accounting Manager

$90-110k plus bonus and great benefits

Olathe, KS – Mostly in-office, WFH 1 day per week

Bell & Associates has been engaged to find our client’s next Accounting Manager. This position will directly support the VP Finance/Controller. The ideal candidate would have a thorough understanding of general accounting as well as construction accounting experience. This person will be a key player in assisting with financial planning, budgeting, and analyzing financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting staff of three
• Assist in monthly/yearly close process
• Manage fixed asset tracking
• Provide technical support to management team
• Provide weekly cash collection forecast
• Balance sheet reconciliations: to include completion and approval
• Support various yearly audits including financial, insurance and tax
• Ad Hoc reporting
• Participate in yearly budget process
• Complete monthly reconciliation of credit cards and bank statements
• Research and resolve financial discrepancies
• Create new accounting/operational procedures as needed
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including banks, insurance providers etc.
• Support upcoming systems conversion

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
• 7 years of related experience
• Experience in job costing and financial reporting
• Expert MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Preferred

• Construction industry knowledge including lien waivers and job costing
• Sage 100
• Treasury management
• Power BI
