$80-100k plus bonus
Kansas City, MO – hybrid schedule
Bell & Associates has been engaged to find our client’s next Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager is a key position in the company for many corporate accounting and finance activities. The Accounting Manager will operate in a fast-paced work environment, oversee the day-to-day accounting and reporting processes, and effectively communicate with team members and constituents to achieve any mission, anytime, anywhere. Contributions include overseeing the operations and development of the accounting/finance department, supervising the preparation of monthly reconciliations and reporting, and advising colleagues and executive management on financial-related decisions. This position will be based in Kansas City, Missouri and will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily accounting operations for United States based operating company and period-end global consolidated financial reporting requirements.
- Perform and oversee period-end close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP.
- Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Prepare stand-alone and consolidated monthly internal/external financial statements and ad hoc financial reporting for financial and business management.
- Assist in preparation of cash flow forecasts and other finance related items.
- Create and maintain clear documentation to support annual audits and respond to audit requests.
- Assemble various accounting policies, procedures, and analyses.
- Assist in the implementation of productivity initiatives for the accounting and reporting process.
- Perform other relevant duties, as assigned.
Requirements To successfully perform this role, the individual must be analytical, detail orientated, and possess strong interpersonal skills. The Accounting Manager must uphold the company vision, possess high integrity, and have a desire to be a positive team contributor. Essential requirements include:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential highly preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong understanding and experience performing and/or reviewing general ledger, period-end close, consolidated reporting, intercompany transactions, and international operations
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and able to see big picture beyond details
- Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects independently to a timely completion
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- NetSuite experience is a plus
