Chief Financial Officer

Position Overview: Agriculture company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, providing strategic financial leadership, and ensuring the long-term financial stability and growth of the company.
Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Provide financial forecasts, budgets, and analysis for executive decisions.
- Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee preparation and communication of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
- Ensure adherence to cannabis compliance regulations (preferred but not mandatory).
Operational Finance:
- Manage cash flow and treasury functions.
- Optimize financial processes and systems for efficiency.
- Lead and develop the finance team.
Investment and Funding:
- Evaluate and manage investments and funding opportunities.
- Develop relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
- Oversee capital raising activities.
- Support fundraising efforts.
Cannabis Industry Expertise:
- Stay informed on industry regulations, trends, and best practices.
- Align financial strategies with industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
- Leverage industry knowledge for informed financial decisions (preferred but not mandatory).
Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with the executive team on company-wide strategies.
- Provide insights on business performance and growth opportunities.
- Represent the company to financial partners.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of finance experience, including 5 years in a senior role.
- Proven strategic planning and execution experience.
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, financial planning, and analysis.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High ethical standards and understanding of cannabis compliance regulations (preferred but not mandatory).
- Familiar with Financial softwares, MS suite and other related technologies.
