$200-230k plus 50% & equity

Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client recruit their next Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead and manage the Company’s financial function, which currently includes a staff of five. He or she will be responsible for management reporting; financial strategy, planning and analysis; accounting; control; treasury; tax, risk management; financial systems; and internal audit. The CFO will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting in line with GAAP, and the integrity of financial and regulatory reporting and the supporting financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Company’s growth plans, including the integration of new acquisitions.
- Developing robust reporting package to inform the private equity sponsor
- Longer term, the successful candidate will be a primary driver in maximizing operational efficiency and corporate valuation.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree is required.
- A CPA, M.B.A. or other relevant degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in business unit and corporate roles, predominantly in the financial function.
- Previous and current experience as a successful CFO is highly desirable
- Solid technical financial skills are required – GAAP, cost accounting.
- Operating experience is a plus; an operating perspective is essential.
- Experience developing and integrating processes, procedures and systems – a strong suit in a supply chain management in similar environments.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food-related, is required.
- Ideally, the successful candidate would have a record of success as a financial executive in a thin margin business or PE environment.
- Experience in a growth environment (organic and by acquisition) is valued
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to achieve results in the context of cultural change (restructuring, turnaround, acquisition integration) in which he/she has been a primary driver.
- Strong organizational skills – leadership, management, process.
- Team-oriented. Can be equally effective as a team leader and team member.
- Can evaluate, recruit and develop effective financial talent under conditions of growth and cultural and organizational change. Results-oriented and pragmatic.
- Can drive financial discipline through attitudes and behaviors throughout the organization and through every business process. Is entrepreneurial and “hands dirty” as the position will require the right candidate to handle diverse challenges especially during the transformation period.
- Can work effectively with private equity partners.
- Strong communication skills – verbal, written, listening. Can communicate complex matters in a straightforward, transparent manner to all levels of internal constituencies and external constituencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills – can work effectively as a leader in a culture change context. Can work effectively in a private equity context.
- Strategic, but with a bias toward action – results-oriented and tactical.
- Highly analytical and fact-based with mastery of the numbers.
