Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client find their next Controller. This person will support business operations by providing leadership for the Finance, Accounting, Information Technology and Human Resource functions. This position oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll and cost accounting and is responsible for implementing financial policies, processes, controls and reporting systems, financial analysis, budgeting and planning and managing the internal and external audit processes ensuring compliance. The Controller will also serve as the Human Resource Generalist regarding practical application of company policy, procedure, benefits and employee engagement.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the company’s financial affairs including: accounting, day-to-day activities including accounts receivable and cash management, budgeting, planning, expense control, forecasting and risk management.

  • Key member of senior management team. Fosters a proactive orientation in the financial and IT areas, recommending and implementing solutions to company issues and ensuring priorities are aligned with strategic objectives and financial controls.

  • Manages the activities of the Accounting Department ensuring accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of financial reporting in line with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Drives decisions throughout the organization using key performance indicator reports, policies, metrics and analysis complied by working closely with Operations. Communicates any early warnings and deviations.

  • Establishes and maintains systems and controls that insure the integrity of all systems and transactions.

  • Maintains current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and current accounting standards advising management on needed actions.

  • Administers health and welfare plans including benefit communications to new, existing and terminating employees. Manages open enrolments and terminations.

  • Manages computer services and systems. Troubleshoots issues internally.

  • Prepares and files all required government reports

  • Special projects as required

Skills/Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.

  • 5-10 years financial experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong background in cost accounting principles and application in component manufacturing job shop environment

  • Experience with MRP systems and ISO procedures required. Syteline experience plus.

  • Capable of addressing MIS issues by interfacing with IT subcontractor

  • Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relational databases

  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies and the ability to understand and analyze changes in the business model.
