Bell & Associates is seeking a Electrical Engineer/PLC Programmer in Waukesha, WI.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or Computer Science or comparable years of experience with PLC programming
  • Proficient programming skills in PLC programming languages
  • Experience designing and engineering controls systems for machine automation
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and provide efficient solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills

Responsibilities

  • The PLC Programmer is responsible for designing, implementing, and testing various PLC systems according to client specifications while implementing techniques to optimize and create efficiencies
  • This position will collaborate with multiple teams to integrate software and complete testing to ensure functionality
  • Develop and modify PLC systems, meeting client specifications and project deadlines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues ensuring the smooth operation of the systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with hardware components and external devices
  • Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to ensure reliability and functionality
  • Introduce programming improvements in controls and logic systems that are consistent with customer changes or manufacturing requirements
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients during the implementation and deployment phases
  • Document system design, development processes, and user manuals for future reference
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest PLC techniques; attend conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills; conduct research and share finding with the team
  • Assist in the development and testing of PLC applications under the guidance of senior developers
  • Participate in cross-functional design and implementation discussions to contribute ideas and insights
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation, including software requirements and test plans
  • Protect company value by keeping information confidential
  • Perform cross-functional analysis and lead special projects as requested
