Bell & Associates is seeking a Electrical Engineer/PLC Programmer in Waukesha, WI.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science or comparable years of experience with PLC programming
- Proficient programming skills in PLC programming languages
- Experience designing and engineering controls systems for machine automation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and provide efficient solutions
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
Responsibilities
- The PLC Programmer is responsible for designing, implementing, and testing various PLC systems according to client specifications while implementing techniques to optimize and create efficiencies
- This position will collaborate with multiple teams to integrate software and complete testing to ensure functionality
- Develop and modify PLC systems, meeting client specifications and project deadlines
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues ensuring the smooth operation of the systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with hardware components and external devices
- Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to ensure reliability and functionality
- Introduce programming improvements in controls and logic systems that are consistent with customer changes or manufacturing requirements
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients during the implementation and deployment phases
- Document system design, development processes, and user manuals for future reference
- Stay up-to-date with the latest PLC techniques; attend conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills; conduct research and share finding with the team
- Assist in the development and testing of PLC applications under the guidance of senior developers
- Participate in cross-functional design and implementation discussions to contribute ideas and insights
- Assist in the preparation of documentation, including software requirements and test plans
- Protect company value by keeping information confidential
- Perform cross-functional analysis and lead special projects as requested
