Process Engineer

Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client recruit their next Process Engineer.  This position is responsible for technical support of new product introduction and manufacturing processes.  This position will work with the customer’s designers and internal support teams to deliver high quality PCBAs.  In addition, this position will review and address any shop-floor technical issues and support continual improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Review customer furnished product documentation and understand the requirements
• Identify and resolve technical issues with the design and/or manufacturing processes
• Continually evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes by conducting experiments; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Assure product and process quality by establishing standards and confirming manufacturing processes.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
• Develop innovative solutions.
• Report on findings, improvement plans and benefits
• Provide suggestions during incident investigations and advise on corrective actions.
• Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process.

Requirements

• BS Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• EMS industry experience
• Knowledge of PCBA processes (SMT and Post SMT) is a must
• Knowledge of System Level assembly a plus
