Bell & Associates has been engaged to search for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our client’s team. As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in our financial operations by managing and analyzing our cost data, ensuring accurate cost allocation, and supporting our leadership team with insightful financial presentations. Your expertise in SAP software is essential, and your experience in manufacturing and external audits will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain cost accounting systems and processes, ensuring accurate cost allocation and inventory valuation.
- Utilize SAP software to perform detailed cost analysis, including variances, cost centers, and profitability reports.
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and analysis to executive management, providing insights into cost trends and recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product costing, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciling cost-related accounts and preparing journal entries.
- Continuously improve cost accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, with a strong focus on SAP software.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Experience with external audits and a solid understanding of regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
